TWS To Host Stop in Ford GT National Rally
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, October 1, 2009 – Texas World Speedway is proud to host Ford GT’s and owners during a stop on the Ford GT National Rally IV organized by www.FordGTForum.com. This three day rain or shine event brings together stock and modified GT’s from around the country as they embark on a journey through the Texas Hill Country.
Day one brings the Ford GT’s to the banks of Texas World Speedway as they test driving skills along the high speed turns of the 2.9 mile road course. The track will be hot with over 70 Ford GT’s from 10am to 5pm. The Rally will then move forward on a cruise to Austin, Texas for dinner to hear from the FGT program and build team.
Day two expects an early drive from Austin to Goliad, Texas as the Rally experiences the Texas Mile. This one mile straight will allow the Ford GT’s to run wide open on an airport runway that mimics running on a straight 1 1/2 mile section of open highway.
The last day of the Rally is reserved for some hill country driving along what some consider one of America’s secrets. Through these rolling hills and drop off valleys the Ford GT’s will drive where the water runs clear, the winds blow fresh and the breathtaking scenery will leave you in a peaceful serenity. The Rally will then conclude with a traditional final dinner and charity auction that evening.
